“ONE MONTH IN ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA” — by Rosa
Hello Mark, Betsy and Hardy:
I hope you all are in good health when you receive this letter. I just wanted to let you know that there is no words in the world that can describe how grateful I am for giving my son –Roberto, aka “Bob” — the opportunity for a chance to start healing his body and brain from the inside to the outside (as I see this treatment works).
During the treatment, I noticed that Roberto’s speech had improved dramatically; actually, he is speaking better in English than Spanish (and he had never had taken English classes nor lived in United States before!!)…his spontaneous responding to everybody has been incredible. He has been speaking English from the very first day of treatment!!! He is very alert on any personal or phone conversation I have while he is drawing or watching TV (he can pay attention on two situations simultaneously. Roberto will be back school this week and I will let you know how he is making his scholar performance in every single area. I also enclose brief comments on Roberto’s progress I noticed during the treatment on July 2011. Thank you for being part of our life. We miss you! God bless you!!! — Rosa and Roberto (“Bob”)

He was very excited and hyper also.

He took a little slice of pizza and eat it (knowing that he can’t eat pizza because he is on casein and gluten free diet)..and after a little while he threw up…he said” Mom, I know I know…don’t tell me anything…pizza is not for me…it makes me sick I know….it will never happen again…I promise.

He was speaking in English to everybody.
When I was driving and the GPS said “ recalculating’ Roberto said to me…”ooook. Mom, easyyyyy, you will it get it sometime” (he was talking like that because he did not feeling good that day…he was very upset as well as his stomach. He had serious Candida and bacterial problems that day.
In the Chamber…”he told me that he would enter alone…since he is too big for being the two of us in the chamber”

We went to the Florida Aquarium in Tampa and Roberto said to a man who seemed to be Chinese or Japanese… “ hey, are you from china..” and the man said to Roberto: “no, I’m from Korea…; and Roberto said…oohh…Korea…that’s where Tae Kwon Do is from…right? And the man responded:… yeah..that’s right”

He was a little hyper during all they long but I had Epson salt and it seemed to calm him down.

He did not want me to enter with him in the chamber. He told me that I was not allowed to be with him because he was a grown up.

When we got The Hyperbaric Center, Hardy took us some pictures and Roberto saluted in the military way!

Roberto wake up early and he made his bed alone while I was still sleeping.
I wanted to walk a little with Roberto and we walk around the house and the All Children Hospital walking one block around the house. When we finished, I told Roberto to give another time around the house…and Roberto told me: “ No…Mom, you make sick” I don’t want to walk again..Do you understand me…!!! Roberto…was very quiet and when I asked him what was he thinking of..he told me…”mom, when we return back home, we have to change the wall colors of my room since I am not a baby anymore.” Roberto told me: Mom, I will build a restaurant so we can do money and you don’t have to work so hard and not getting so tired everyday. And Gaby and Manuel (his cousins) will be waitress in my restaurant. Roberto told me: Mom, I want a GPS so I can use it when I walk in the street so I cannot get lost anytime. Roberto helped me to laundry.

We went to YMCA and he was very happy. We were exercising a lot and Roberto was very happy for being there.

I was very tired…and Roberto told me : I know I know…you are tired…I Know…
When we went to bed (I thought he was already sleeping…) I called a friend and told her that I need help in PR…in PR I don’t have help..and he told me (almost fallen asleep) “Mom, I will help you” and then he continued sleeping. At Gym, Roberto was exercise with a trainer…he was speaking to her in English all time.

Today, we went to the pool at YMCA.
One of the safeguard told me that they had to test him on how he swim. I asked her how was going to be the test and she told me that Roberto should swim from one side of the pool and get to the other side (the pool was too long..!). I told her that I did not think Roberto would do it..and she told me…let’s look at him. When he began swimming…He did it all the way of the pool and then he returned back!!! Then Roberto told me: See Mom!!! I know how to swim !!! See!!! (he noticed that I thought he couldn’t do it.)

Today, Roberto eat chicken !!! That’s was fantastic…he has serious sensory problems and he had been able to eat chicken for so long time ago.

I was driving…and we lost again trying to get to a friend;s house in Clearwater…and Roberto told me: oh no…agaiiin!! Mom, you have to concentrate…look at the GPS…get focused on what you are doing.. eassyyy please!!

He began his first therapy of the day at the Hyperbaric Center telling everybody that from now on, he will be “Bob”!! Since his name is Roberto and in English is Robert…Every Robert is called Bob! So…he is now ‘Bob”.

Last day…in the Center…he was happy because he wanted to return home…he said…My father, my teacher, my friends and my family miss me so much. So I have to take care of all of them.

“Mom, I want us to change my room because I am not a baby anymore. I want you to know that. Ok? I want to dispose of any baby toys I have been using lately and only keep the most important toys. I want to change my room from a baby room to a young child room.”

I noticed that his nasal and skin allergies has not been seen since we arrived PR. I am sure that it was because of his Hyperbaric Chamber treatment.
But overall, I know that he is a lot better than when we started and his improvements make me believe that’s there is a light at the end of the tunnel…and I continue working hard enjoying every single Roberto’s progress.
